West Bengal State Seed Corporation Limited, a State Govt. undertaking Company was incorporated on the 13th November, 1980 with the key objective is to carry on in West Bengal and in India the production of certified seeds of all kinds and varieties coming under the purview of the Seed Act, 1966 (No.54 of 1966) and/ or any other Act on the subject and Quality Seeds and/ or other Kinds and varieties not covered by the Seeds Act, 1966 and/ or any other Act.
In order to achieve this, the Company organizes seed production programmes through seed growers and sponsored agencies, Agricultural Farms of State Govt. and SAUs across the State of West Bengal.
The management of the Company is vested in the Board of Directors who are nominated by the State Govt. The Chairman and Managing Director of the Company are also representatives of the Govt. of West Bengal.
West Bengal Sate Seeds Corporation Ltd., popularly known by its brand name “BENGAL SEEDS” is one of the leading State Seeds Corporation among all State Seed Corporations in India especially in Eastern India serving in the larger interest of the farming community over three decades with trust, brand loyalty, quality assurance, dedicated service and offered sustainable contribution towards upliftment of farmers with Glorious achievements.

I am glad to learn that the West Bengal State Seed Corporation LTD. Is going to launch its first ever website on the day of inauguration of its new office premises at Bengal Chemical Building, 5th Floor, 6, Ganesh Ch Avenue Kolkata – 700013 on 1st March 2017.
I convey my sincere thanks and gratitude to the Officers and Staff member of West Bengal State Seed Corporation LTD for their concerted efforts in timely supplying different seeds and agricultural inputs to the farming community of the state of West Bengal through their different trade channels to fulfill the requirements of different Government Programmmes being undertaken by the State Department of Agriculture.
I wish such new endeavor on the part of West Bengal State Seed Corporation LTD will, of course, immensely help the farmers and public at large.

I am Pleased to know that the West Bengal State Seed Corporation Ltd will be launching their website coinciding with the inauguration of its New Office at 6, Ganesh Chandra Avenue on the 1st March 2017, Kolkata 700013.
The Seed Corporation has been supporting development efforts of the State Govt by transforming Agriculture into a vocation which is economically viable and globally competitive. Officers and staff of the State Seed Corporation have aligned themselves to pursue this vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister to ensure that the growth ultimately improves income of every Marginal and Small Farmers of the State.
I am sure the Website being launched will improve the working and ultimately the level of service to our farmers and the extension efforts too.
